I read the whole series in about two days while recovering from surgery. Well-written with a different spin on time travel, and a heart-pounding climax in all three books. It’s really hard these days to not be able to see what’s coming from a mile away, but this author manages to do it. I thought Susanna was a bit too self-sacrificing, but overall loved the books.

The writing is just as good as the first two books, and the relationships are believable. But with most of the second book being about the main characters getting over their primary insecurities, I would've preferred that the third book did not spend so much time retreading and amplifying those same things, whether or not that's realistic. It makes for a more boring read. As conclusions go, it does tie up loose ends fairly well though. It does, at the very least, the bare minimum which all final books in a trilogy should do.

I hate to say goodbye to Mark and Susanna. The Whisper Falls trilogy was truly captivating. I've already reread the first two and I'm sure I'll reread this one. You know it's a good book when you want to flip back to page one and start again!! The characters are so real; I feel like I know them, sharing their joy and sadness, their irritation and frustration. I felt their heartbreak and indecision and passion for life. The author wrote realistically, not hiding unpleasant history but not reveling in it either. The same is true of her portrayal of culture past and present. It was real but not offensive by an over abundance of detail. I enjoyed using my imagination! And since this is the end of the Whisper Falls trilogy, I'll use my imagination to continue my story of Mark and Susanna. I don't want give anything away!! Hard to put down before the last page!!!!! Oh my!!! I know it's YA fiction but I recommend it to adult book clubs. The Whisper Falls trilogy would be great for high school writing assignments on multiple topics...history, emotion, family ties, goals, friendship, and much more. Adult book clubs would enjoy reminiscing about young love and exploring the emotions and actions of the characters. Recommend to teens AND adults!!!
It was hard to put down. I loved all three books in the series. The love story was was beautiful and indeed timeless.
This final novel in the series sure had a lot of twists and turns I wasn't expecting. The book felt like just the right path for Susanna and Mark to take to find themselves and each other!
