This was just what I needed after a string of not so great books, I mean I finished this….I really finished it!! I put down everything I HAD to read and picked this up. I needed a good book to pull me out of the slump. Recommended to me by a friend this was a great little read.I liked this couple together, Craig was your normal hero, good looking, rich, all around nice guy and perfect. He had his fair share of secrets and drama, but was real in the way he talked and how he reacted to things, he was good for Amber and just what he needed. Amber got on my wick a bit, I got her insecurities, hell I have some of them, and I get it she had trust issues, with good reason and I did like her but like I said she just got on my nerves a bit.
It was predictable and I saw what was coming well ahead of time but that’s ok, I didn’t need to be shocked and surprised by this, I found the pacing spot on, I liked that there was no fluffing around. They liked each other and let it flow for the most part. It was well written, funny and the world building was great. The sexy bits were well…sexy and plentiful, but not over done to the point of gross.
So yeah, I am well invested in this series now and I can’t wait for the next one! I am really looking forward to seeing how Amber grows as a woman.
If you are looking for a nice romance that isn’t dark or twisted then look no further if you are looking for a feel-good love story then this is the book for you!

Silver Lining E J Shortall Kendra Gaither Judy Bullard Books Reviews
I didn't like this book because I didn't like the female protagonist, Amber. This book was told only from her POV and it was the story of how she met and fell in love with Craig. This book was set in England and does contain British popular language. There was an instant attraction and good chemistry between Amber and Craig, but they both didn't trust one another. I don't know how either wanted a relationship because neither of them wanted to be honest about their past and feelings in the forefront. I also had serious issues with Amber's insecurities and her choice to not report the physical assault by her ex-fiancee'. I found myself struggling to complete this book. I did, however, but I will not be buying the next one as I don't particularly care to know what happens to Amber or Craig. In my opinion, they should walk away from one another.
This book caught me from the beginning. The Amber and Craig are the perfect couple. Amber has been hurt badly by her ex and isn't sure her hurt can take any more heartache. Craig isn't looking for love after being burned early on in his life. Once they meet their connection can't be denied. But when faced with obstacles will they be able to hold on to one another or will they both end up broken hearted again. I loved everything about this book and can't wait to start book 2.
I had never read this author before but I certainly will again. She knows how to make a story come together and delight us.
I loved this book it was one of the best love stories I have ever read. The characters Craig and Amber were so right for each other. This story was about taking a chance on love, trust and forgiveness. The author did a fantastic job with the characters. You were right there with them feeling their joy and their pain. I am ready for the sequel to this book. This book was a joy to read
I really loved this book. Amber was so easy to like. Her broken heart and trust issues made her very relatable. The instant connection between her and Craig was sizzling! I read this book in one day because I couldn't wait to find out if their love would make it. I am looking forward to the next book but truly hope I don't have to wait long. There is just something about that rugged, sexy, defend-you-to-the-ends-of-the-earth kind of guy that is so hot. I was rooting for Amber and Craig the whole way!
Good story. Amber is moving on from her cheating scum bag controlling ex. She meets Craig and it is instant attraction. Though it may seem she is jumping to fast in to another relationship, the truth is her relationship with David was over years ago. I wasn't so sure about Craig as a perfect match for her, he has anger issues and seems a bit to jealous. I feel like this book could have been a one and done to their story, I'm not sure their was enough of a story left for another book.
I absolutely loved this story about Craig and Amber. Having been burned by her ex, Amber was starting life over and not looking for another love. She just wanted a new place to live, teach in her school, and rely on her best friends Becki and Scott. But fate intervened and threw Craig into her path. Silver Lining is the story of Craig and Amber as they discovered each other, themselves, and how to love and trust again. The story was beautifully written, the dialog was realistic, and the characters were very real. This story has its own HEA, but I can’t wait for Silver Dove (the continuation of their story).
I mostly liked Craig & Amber's story. When they're together & bantering, they're quite sweet & fun! They both have exes who cause drama, however, and one scenario is done very well (hers) and the other not so much (his). Amber's best friend - who just watched her go through some crap w/ her ex - knows Craig is keeping a pretty big secret. And instead of either A) telling Amber or B) giving Craig a timeline ultimatum to tell Amber, she just makes some cryptic remarks which causes an issue and then when THAT issue is resolved, STILL doesn't spill the beans or talk to Craig about spilling the beans! This allows for some unnecessary drama later in the story.
The unnecessary drama annoys me. The writing is very good, tho!
The final chapter/epilogue are sweet, but feel rushed. However, there is a 2nd book which gives us more Craig & Amber. I'm not sure yet if this is a good thing - I was satisfied w/ the ending of this story, and the 2nd book sounds like it might be more unnecessary drama. I have it, I'm just not sure when I'll read it... All in all, this story was worth the read, but not one of my favorites. )
